Az´kanu
Altough it may sound contradictive, Az´kanu is a very common known secret writing. At least amongst the gnomes that is. Over the ages they used this kind of writing to send messages between clans or from one clan member to another living far away. The secret message would therefore be written on any material where the ink would turn invisible as it dried. It would then remain so until heated. Especially when sending by a non gnome deliverer, that was a very sure way of keeping the secret hidden.
The secret of how to produce this ink is - once learned - rather simple: no more than the plan sap of a certain plant is used. Very crudely the branch iself can even be used as pen, breaking of bits by bits as the sap flow stagnates.
It has ever been a common game amongst young gnomes to write insults in this ink on others clothes, wating until the hot savannah sun slowly turned the writing visible. This process could take a matter of days, depending on the strength of the sun.

Significance
Being such a simple to learn secret and thus not entirely secure, it was rarely ever used to transmit any highly guarded secrets. More comonly it was used to send private notes and letters.
Rarity
common amongst gnomes
Raw materials & Components
Producing the ink is a rather simple process. The plant sap has to be extracted and filled into samll bottles to keep it from drying. It is then ready to use.
Extraction for large amounts is usually done by wounding the stems of larger plants, while for small notes on the run often small branches are used, the branches than acting as pens.
