Breihaille

Untamed, what has yet to be seen has yet to yield.

Breihaille is the name of a north-north-western continent home to Krezmanic Humans and Wirven Goblins. It is known for being inhabited by many different species that, collectively, outnumber Humans. The ratio of how much they outnumber them however is still undetermined, due to the spread and normalization of the Changeling Curse among the wildlife.   Breihalle is the homeland of the country of Krezmany. Although the country itself shows that its borders spread across large stretches of the continent, many other Human and even Dwarven countries agree that the majority of Krezmany is considered wilderness, or claimed by other countries or species. Their claims of ownership, rather than the ability to police and govern it, come from the Krezmanic nobility's supposed influence. Many countries and species have said that a majority of Breihalle is ungoverned, but when threatened with war or violence, the Humans claim to have the ability to deploy manpower to protect and secure the country.

Geography

Breihaille is a large continent better known for its vast regions of dense forests and long-stretching valleys. Truthfully, many parts of Breihaille are still unchartered, due to Wirven incursions and territorial conflicts against the Krezmanic Humans. For this reason, the unexplored lands of Breihaille are simply called 'the wilds'.   The continent is, however, also known for the various mountains and underground cavern systems that are often occupied by non-Human races, most specifically Goblins, and animals and pests such as Gremlin Spider colonies.

Krezmanic Cities/Towns

The capital of Hreld lies to the northern-most side of the continent, with roads that stretch outwards into the wilds that lead to other settlements. In truth, Hreld's roads may or may not lead to towns either occupied by other Krezmanic Humans, or abandoned due to a Wirven tribe's presence; it is common to find roads that nature has reclaimed next to freshly lain ones. The ones that the Krezmanic Empire take the most time in maintaining are the ones that lead to each other major city in Breihaille: Eitlock; Kisselock; and Olsfraiding.

The Wilds

Little is actually known about the wilderness of Breihaille. There are popular rumours circulating around the Krezmanic colonies that the wilds can 'change shape' when not observed for extended periods of time. Discourse and arguments against this theory suggest that Wirven Goblin tribes simply change the areas to confuse potential threats and victims, as in many cases, there have been small consistent details within each recount of a 'change'. In one circumstance, a tree marked with a Krezmanic explorer's sign for 'caution' remained in the same place, while the flora surrounding the tree had been uprooted and moved. However, in another situation, a group of patrolling Human soldiers set up camp for the night, only to find themselves at the mouth of an Ogre cave the next morning.   However, many Wirven tribes (and some Humans) create landmarks in the wilds ('Londhetters' to Wirven Goblins) for particularly notable areas, such as bodies of water or large groups of wild herbs or berries. Wirven tribes have been seen clearing entire sections of forest and harvesting particular resources, only to replant them in an orderly, stylistic fashion. Londhetters created specifically by Wirven tribes also attract local monsters, and perhaps due to the Wirven's diplomatic approach to every other species except Humans, an unspoken rule has formed that any Londhetter is considered a sanctuary; other monsters and species will ensure that a non-aggression pact is followed at any populated Londhetter. The only species excluded from this pact are Humans. Humans are often killed on sight.
