Elementalism
Affo and Simia worship the elements of Ospur. They see all life brought aboard Forlorn Hope as mere guests on the planet.
They worship the elements of fire, stone, air, and water. These elements are inherent to Ospur and their gracious gifts permit life to persist. Stone gives strength to bone and structure to plants. Fire burns in the belly of beasts. Air gives breath to beasts and carries life to leaves. Water flows through both beast and plant.
Affo try to only take what they absolutely need from the elements. It is preferable to use their gifts by harvesting plants than mining stone and killing beasts. Trimming a length of vine to use as rope or gathering berries and leaves for the day's meal does not cost the plant's life nor does it make undue request of the elements.
Though the elements are generous they can be capricious as well. Excessive demands can incur the wrath of the elements. Great floods, forest fires, earthquakes and terrible storms can be the elements showing their displeasure. However the elements do not think the same as humanity. At times they act in ways that humanity cannot fathom.
There is no embodiment of evil. There is decay and rot that must be counteracted, but there is no malicious mind behind it. It is merely the chaos that permeates reality.
Structure
Elementalism is not a strongly hierarchical organization. The elder shaman of the tribes do have greater influence on decision making but even the most novice shaman can speak for the elements.
