Welcome to Oryn

I've seen worlds of demons and worlds of angels; glimpsed the powers and temptations presented from unknown depths of chaos and madness, and I still dwell in my simple tower on the world of Oryn, and though it seems dangers lurks at every corner of this tiny rock, I call it home.
— Tarn'oth Tayon, Master Sorcerer
Welcome to the world of Oryn. The year is 1237 by the reconning of the elves of the nation of Llwendel, the first of many great nations to arise after the tumultuous events of the past. The civilized races compete with monsters of myths and legends to eke out a tremulous existence.   Primarily the setting for many of my writings, Oryn combines elements of high fantasy combined with elements of dark fantasy and sword and sorcery to create a gritty and foreboding atmosphere where fell beast lurk at every turn. My goal is to create a robust world, complete with histories and mythologies to create a more complete cohesion for my writings and to provide a solid place for RPG enthusiasts to call home.

As it Stands...

It is war!   West of the Great Divide Mountains, the expansionistic empire of Cendonia has been carving a path through many of it's neighbors. So far, the nations of Maritania, Velbor, and Gastorin have fallen to the superior armies of Emperor Hamish Celdor, the current reigning monarch of the Cendonian nation. On Cendonia's eastern front, only the reclusive elves of the Yevoran Forest have managed to halt the advance of the Cendonian armies so far. In the west, the barbarians of the Tirnaland have mustered enough of a resistance to cause the Cendonians to erect a vast wall to stop raids upon its settlements in the area.   To the east of the Great Divide Mountains, the alliance of elven nations of Llwendel and Selvia stand as a beacon of light against the encroaching darkness. But, the goblinoids from the the Mountains of Ice and those of Ran'Wolf Hallow have been stirring against the ever watchful eyes of the elves. Goblinoid raiders have been spotted throughout the Freyban Lands and into the fringes of Selvia and Llwendel and beyond the nation of Gualdoria to the foothills of the Great Divide, where these goblinoids have skirmished with the dwarves of the mountains.   But, an ancient evil stirs deep within the desert of the Accursed Sands. Rumors of a monstrous horde have reached the empires of the north...
