Torment

Description

Torment was a demonic longsword created long ago by the eternal demon lich, Strois'irsck, using a portion of the essence of a dead old god whose name is unknown. A weapon of terrible potency, Torment's bite struck fear in even the great demon lord of the infernal pits.

Powers

Torment could only be used by someone it deems as worthy and someone willing to pursue chaos and evil. Though sentient, the sword's intellect is relatively weak, and it's influence minimal. At first glance, Torment appears to be a standard magical longsword. Once attuned, the full potential of Torment was realized.

The wicked sword could upon command emit a orange glow that was capable of banishing even the most impenetrable darkness.

The necrotic damage inflicted by the longsword was so potent that nothing was immune or resistant. Additionally, angelic beings were considered especially sensitive to the effect and took double necrotic damage as a result. The necrotic damage was not permanent, though still potent, and wounds inflicted would only heal slowly over days, weeks, and even months of recovery.

Half of all damage inflicted by Torment (physical and necrotic) was used to restore and/or boost the health of the user. This stolen life would allow the user's vitality to grow beyond his or her maximum limits. Additionally, the wielder gained resistance to Necrotic Damage.

History

In the year of -12,435 EEA, Strois'irsck found the remains of a badly decayed and mangled dead old god, from which he slowly extracted the residual divine essence that he collected into a priceless genstone for use at a later time.

Torment was created nearly 10,000 years ago by the demon lich, Strois'irsck.

Torment was a demonic longsword created long ago by the eternal demon lich, Strois'irsck, using a portion of the essence of a dead old god whose name is unknown. A weapon of terrible potency, Torment's bite struck fear in even the great demon lord of the infernal pits.

The wicked sword could at will emit a orange glow that is capable of banishing even impenetrable magical darkness and provide illumination for up to 60 feet in all directions.

Torment could only be used by someone it deems as worthy and someone willing to pursue chaos and evil. Though sentient, the sword's intellect was relatively weak, and it's influence minimal. At first glance, Torment appeared to be a standard magical +3 longsword. Once attuned, the full potential of Torment was realized, and the sword became a magical +5 necrotic longsword.

The necrotic damage inflicted by the longsword was so potent that nothing was immune or resistant. Additionally, angelic beings were considered especially sensitive to the effect and took double necrotic damage as a result. The necrotic damage was not permanent, though still potent, and wounds inflicted would only heal slowly over days, weeks, and even months of recovery at a rate of 1d4 hit points per day.

Half of all damage inflicted by Torment (physical and necrotic) was used to restore the health of the user. This stolen life would allow the wielder's health to extend beyond his or her maximum hit points with no maximum limits.

Additionally, the wielder gained resistance to Necrotic Damage. As a result, the user would only receive half damage from any necrotic damage inflicted.
