Notable Events and Contracts

2590 - PPE concentrated on producing useful and uplifting programming for Rygar along with other frontier worlds with a focus overcoming differences.   PPE was able to secure one of the Presidential debates in 2590.   2595 - PPE successfully secured the rights to a number of top sporting events in the Republic for its network. It also purchased a dedicated HARP network to broadcast them, along with starting to offer ISP and messaging services, driving further revenue.   PPE secured the exclusive rights to broadcast MMA, Kendo, Sumo, and Polo.   Participated in the "Worlds Fair" on New Carthage, from just outside the capital city of New Rhodes. The fair, designed to showcase innovation and to serve as a reminder of the "critical role that the hansa plays within the Republic" saw booths, displays, huge events and give aways of all sorts by the gathered corporations.   Many top CEOs also made appearances at the fair which was free to enter and saw hundreds of millions of adjusted dollars worth of freebies given away.   The exhibitions also were a chance for workers to look for new jobs, with recruiters there from all the major corporations.   Sevoy Panikkar, CEO of Empyreal Entertainment and the principal organizer of the fair, spoke of the value that the Hansa adds to the Republic and that "we understand that people have concerns but it's not quite the way that we are sometimes portrayed. The Hansa provides jobs, quality produts and services and underpins the economy of the Republic. We're very proud to offer this fair as a chance to show what we do and the posirives of our relationship".   PPE, along with the other Moreland Corporations took part in the colonisation of First Light, providing the first industry and jobs for the planet.   2600 - PPE was able to secure one of the Presidential debates in 2600.   Dalton McCabe started his series of in depth media documentaries about important subjects within the Republic.   "The Big Mortgage Squeeze" attempted to shed light on the Republic-Wide incident and the chaos that was brought to the market when Republic-Wide collapsed and the "fire-sale" that followed.   "Storm: The Elazar effect." The show focused in depth on the Elazar family of Gaia and their influence on Gaia as well as their leadership behind the scenes with Ravenheart.   There was also an in depth episode with Ravenheart voters on Gaia and Nova Terra, who expressed their admiration for the Elazars, their fears regarding AIs and psionics and their dislike of the "Federalist government."   The shows drew praise from many media pundits of the time for their in depth approach and their open handedness on the subject matter. Dalton McCabe, a former civil rights lawyer, was prasied for his role as presenter and moderator too.   2610 - Dalton McCabe of PPE ended Wolfgang Howler's streak of five years in a row in the "Top Newsie" award. McCabe, a former prosecutor, has been hailed for his intelligent, hard driving and unbiased style.   PPE won the award for best reporting as well. However, the "Holman Award" for news reporting went to Connect AC for their recent exposes of political corruption.   PPE news ran another series of in depth media documentaries, fronted by Dalton McCabe.   "Inside the RFP" which was an in depth, multi part documentary about the Republic Federal Police and its struggle to confront the likes of the Black Dragon Yakuza, Dhau infiltration and Torment, as well as the tide of Separatism.   "Arms Race" which focused on the RFP Field office on Vanheim. The embedded reporter went out on surveillance operations, early morning raids and was witness to a short but terrifying shootout at a drugs lab on the edge of Aesir City.   "Sharp End" focused on the Counter Terrorism Unit, the ever growing unit charged with taking on terrorist organisations like Burning Path. It showed the teams battling with resistance from locals on St Lawrence and the struggle to get any usable intelligence. It also showed one lead lost after a judge refused to sign off on a warrant.   "The Search for a Vaccine" concentrated on the efforts to contain and then find a vaccine for the SNOW plague.   Dalton McCabe was praised, again at the time his even handed, detail orientated approach and his personable approach to the subjects.   PPE confirmed further episodes to follow in 2611. The in depth documentaries followed the imparitial style PPE also preffered for its News Programming.
