With the death of General Collier McQaid, the McQaid family was apparently wiped out on Whitworth and faded out of Terran politics.

Known History

The McQaid family have been involved in Terran politics since the days of the Terran Federation in the 22nd century. They have been known for seeking high offices and their service to the state   Rafe McQaid, the heir to the family dynasty and a West-Corp Exec, was killed during the 2336 OMDA terrorist attack.  

Political Offices

Brear McQaid was elected to the Confederate Union Senate in the year 2292 and then was appointed to the League executive committee in the year 2325.   Braer McQaid was named as Secretary of Defence under President Colby in 2325. He was then reshuffled to the role of Treasury Secretary in 2328.   In 2330 he was an early supporter of President Colby. When President Colby won his second term and the 2330 election, he named Braer McQaid as the Secretary of State.   Secretary McQaid joined the Federalist Party in 2332 and was a major figure in the Party during the 2335 convention. He emerged as the Vice Presidential nominee alongside Altus Kinnick and won the election.   In 2340 Vice President McQaid was nominated by the Federalist Party for President. He won the 2340 Presidential election and was sworn in as the third President of the Federated States. He lead an administration with a social reform agenda.   In 2345 President McQaid confirmed that he would not seek a second term. He confirmed he was retiring from front-line politics due to an illness. The dynasty was rocked by this loss and Deputy Arie McQaid became the new scion of the family   In 2350, Arie McQaid was elected as Governor of the influential Whitworth colony. In 2355 Arie McQaid was the Federalist nominee for Vice President. With the success of the Rishi / McQaid ticket, he was elected Vice President.   In 2360 Vice President McQaid was part of the beaten Rishi / McQaid ticket in the very close election against Admiral Stargher. In 2365 Arie McQaid began his political comeback by winning his old seat as Governor of Whitworth.
