Spellbooks - Researching and Copying Spells
For each level of the spell, the process takes 2 hours and costs 50 gp. The cost represents material components you expend as you experiment with the spell to master it, as well as the fine inks you need to record it. Once you have spent this time and money, you can prepare the spell just like your other spells.

IN REGARDS TO INK NEEDED FOR COPYING
- Don't worry about the ink gathering if they're in a location where it's logically available, like a decent-sized town in the Forgotten Realms setting, or any sort of wizard institution.
- If they're in the wilderness or a dungeon, they're not going to be able to simply subtract gold and create ink with it. Maaaaybe if they have alchemist's tools and proficiency thereof, and can make a solid case that they've also accumulated appropriate ingredients from things that they already have (i.e. not reconned that they have been looking for all along, but things that they actually, explicitly have) with some time they could attempt to make a suitable ink.
