CAMPAIGN 3

• Life has been just ok since his youth at Stosan Academy, and leaving early to apprentice under a Djinni (Keth the famous Djinni on Expa) was definitely not a choice that made his mother, the famous Elyria Heviiryn happy. Though she did put in a good word for Lukas, which is mostly why Keth agreed to become his Warlock patron and show him some magical tricks, though Lukas always thought Keth also saw potential and wanted to nuture it.
• Sadly, things soured with Keth when wanted him to start traveling around Terus, "pretending" to be a real Djinni in a bottle to throw people off her actual location, and Lukas did not like the idea of living in a bottle all that time waiting for someone to rub him out....of the bottle.
• So he went home to Zyn in the Underdark, finding his parents busy with all the "King Alphanis is dead" and "the Genasi are going to war" stuff, and yeah, he cared, especially since Alphanis had always been kind of funny and cool to him, but he was kind of looking for direction right now, but not necessarily a crusade.
• He got bored waiting for them to come back, and decided to have some fun in a local casino, where of course he had to try out some of the tricks Keth taught him. And because he was the son of Elyria and Glibglub, someone recognized him, and was keeping tabs on him, and not thrilled at see what they thought was cheating. (even if it actually was cheating, Lukas KNEW there was no way they actually saw anything). Forced to flee, he made his way to a dingy tavern nearby where he first met the BLACK TEAR, agreeing to guide them into the Underdark as long as they protected him and got him out of Zyn.
• Long story short, it didn't go well. He didn't get a long with a number of members, especially the Air Genasi T'nin, who eventually trapped Lukas in the wine-bottle he had been using as a temporary hiding spot using one of Keth's tricks, and left the group, taking Lukas along with him.
• KIDNAPPING HIM.
• Lukas was in the bottle for what felt like weeks (luckily it was similar to the Iron Flash the Black Tear had, in that he didn't need to eat, sleep or breathe), but he was BORED and FURIOUS. Occasionally he could hear voices outside, and he knew they were some kind of mages, for one of them was using his power to keep a seal on the bottle so Lukas could not escape.
• When he was finally let out, he was shocked to find himself back at Keth's inn, back in Expa, and he suddenly realized why she had been so intent on throwing people off her location. These peopel wanted HER, and they were using HIM to get to her. There was a battle, the T'nin and his powerful ally, Judai'aruk, threatened Keth repeatedly, wanting her to resurrect some ancient God, which she claimed she could not do. So instead Judai'aruk demanded she return all pieces of some Orrery to him, which she also refused to do, until they grabbed Lukas, and said they would end his life unless Keth did as she was told.
• Lukas told her to let them kill him, as he wasn't important, but she wouldn't listen. She performed one of the most powerful WISH spells Lukas had ever seen her do, and suddenly all the pieces of this Orrery were in the room, being collected by Judai'aruk and put into a bag of holding.
• In her weakened state (which always happened following a wish spell), Judai'aruk unleashed the full brunt of his power, slaughtering the mighty Keth on the spot, as the raw fury of the spell caused massive chunks of the ceiling to fall on Lukas and Keth alike.
• He awoke to Black Tear members freeing him from the rubble, and he rushed over to find Keth's body. Heartbroken, and feeling ultimately responsible, Lukas stayed with her as the Black Tear searched the room, and explained to them everything that had happened. Realizing that with Keth gone, no one would be guarding the Portal to Limbo the inn was built around, Lukas vowed to protect it in her stead, allowing the Black Tear access. Shortly after, his mother, Elyria, arrived with a contingent of guards to aid in his quest to guard the portal, as SPEER knew the importance of watching these portals now that so much was happening on Terus.
• Weeks later, his mother was contacted by King Alphanis (who Lukas had still thought was dead, much like everyone else on Terus), and told the Death Joints were reforming to help the Black Tear who had recently gone missing. Elyria explained that she had to leave, but said the guards would do an excellent job protecting the portals in her stead, and left to find her old allies.
• Believing the guards really would be able to hand the job (at least temporarily), Lukas stealthily/ secretly) followed his mom to the rendevous, wanting to see if King Alphanis was still alive, and quietly hoping that the group following the group might lead him to T'nin or Judai'aruk, both of whom he was very eager to kill...
