Matsuko reveals his true self to his commander Linwenido, who he knows will die of old age after being in the war that they attempted to stop. Several campaigns made up a greater conquest war. With all of his formal requests denied, and a call for peace ignored, he forged an army comprising of members of the entire capable populace, with only a small garrison of 1500 loyalists being the only remaining forces the Tyrant King had. Because it was his last resort and all other options were exhausted, he set forth to commit such an act of destruction, that the scale would not be rivaled for a thousand years.
King Lasym had grown made with power, having forced unjust regulations onto his subjects simply because he could. Military service was mandatory, and war was a common passtime of the king. It was apparent to his upper eshcelon of commanders, one being Linwenido, that his delusions of grandeur to the point of wanting to conquer the entire continent to be under his rule. Such a feat would be daunting even with a vast army, but that was not something he cared remotely about. Nine wars, spanning almost nine years each, devastated the morale of the populace, with entire generations knowing nothing but war. The exact number of fatalities is unknown, but after eighty years of attempting peaceful solutions, the mysterious youth underneath Commander Linwenido, brought forth a proposition that went further than rebellion or a regime change. It was something that would shape the face of Orlon for centuries to come.
Coordinating with ten other Commanders, they forged together a plot in which they would all 'betray' one another, as would be reported. Their 'losses' resulted in the current war temporarily being halted on paper due to 'excessive losses and lowered morale'. Of course, the King would be having none of it, demanding that more be conscripted to replace them. This however, did not happen. Instead he was greeted by a group of fifteen thousand of his own soldiers, with, instead of Linwenido showing up, he was greeted by someone who he viewed as no more than a common foot soldier, Matsuko.
"No no, you don't understand, when I say the castle is GONE I mean it was for all accounts never built up beyond the foundation. Not even one thousand cannons could likely equal the destruction we witness. The most unfathomable part of the event was that not a single person died."
