The final remnants of the order of Karkus die out, leaving the relic unportected.
After the temple was raided in 344 CE, many of the workers and warriors had been killed. The order of Karkus no longer had the means to sustain itself, having come to rely on its people to be able to provide. The preists decided to encourge those who were able to travel to leave the order to live their lives elsewhere. Few left however, feeling they owed their lives to the order and many having lived their whole lives there. The order continued for a decade, though much diminished. Survival had become a difficult task, not having enough people to tend to all the crops and livestock. Everyone had to pitch in. Much knowledge had been lost in the raid in the years before and many mistakes were made. After twelve years of this existence, the priests again asked those able to travel to leave, knowing the time of the Order was drawing to a close. Again, only a few left, some hoping to bring back new people. None ever returned. Few children were born during this time, unwilling to bring a life into their harsh world. Numbers kept declining until only the truely dedicated remained. These last remnants mainly consisted of the elderly and the priests. They lived as well as they could until the elders died. Their final instruction to the younger ones who stayed behind was to leave, forget the Order and the relic ever existed and never return. For now the only chance for the relic to remain safe was for it to be forgotten. In the spring of 371 CE, all that remained of the order left the forest that had been their home for so long and journeyed west to Pinvur.
