Founding

A group of Irkka find a strange forest in the Western Hills. At the centre they find a strange artefact. Upon touching it, Karkus sees the future and proclaims the artefact must be protected.

By chance, a group of Irkka happened across a small forest in the middle of the hill lands. Trees were generally sparse in this area so the sudden appearence of a forest was unexpected to say the least. The Irkka entered the trees, and headed into the interior.   At the centre, they found a crater, only a hundred meters across. At the centre sat an object, radiating strong magic out into the surrounding area. One Irkka dared to reach out and touch it. The magic took hold immediately, flooding her mind with visions of the future and driving her near insane.   When her companions managed to get the object out of her grip she fought against them, crying out and declaring the object must be protected. She refused to leave the forest, even after her companions begged her to return to their home.   Some eventually left without her, forgetting the cursed forest ever existed. Few remained, unwilling to leave her and believing they had been chosen by the Celestials to protect this holy artefact. They constructed a temple for it deep underground where it would be safe. They found that touching it caused no adverse effects, but the magic could still be felt.
