Tempestus XI

The planet's massive heavystorms kept NEB terraforming teams from establishing their heavy equipment just long enough for the rebellion to break out and the Orion Exodus to make for its region in space. It didn't take long for Neo-Humanity to set its sights on Tempestus XI. The New Economic Block and the Perseus Charter settled into a hundred years of war, interrupted only by the Perseus War between the Charter and the Covenant Progeniture. The Progeniture successfully absorbed the Charter and took on the conflict at Tempestus XI, where they've fought ever since. Only time will tell if all the blood is worth it. Geography
Tempestus XI is a prime Terra-like world, possessing an unprecedented equatorial diameter of 0.96 with a mass of M⊕1. The planet orbits well within the sweet spot necessary for life. Most of the planet is temperate, though a narrow tropical band is found at the equator. It can be split into two broad continents (Primus, Secundus) surrounded by four major oceans (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta). Nobody has agreed on a name for any of the terrain features as the world has seen more warfare than surveying teams.
Tempestus XI is wracked by irregular 'heavystorms', massive cyclones that drop brutal hail, rain and hurricane-force winds. The heavystorms can reach up to 1500 km in diameter and form within a week over Oceans Alpha and Gamma. Heavystorms all but shut down theaters when they roll through, forcing combatants to seek shelter until the storm eventually passes up to a month later.
Fauna & Flora
Tempestus XI possesses copious amounts of plant-life, ranging from unicellular algae to primitive ferns. All the plant life is marginally compatible with Terran biology. Tempestus XI plants uniformly have a mild psychoactive effect on Terran physiology. Tempestus algae provides a pleasant seasoning to soups and stews and generates mild euphoria, while the spores of their ferns can cause exceptionally strong effects including dissociation, extreme overstimulation, and increased energy.
