Hyperspace News Network

The Hyperspace News Network is not a monolith. Mankind, given even the slightest amount of isolation- be it philosophical, geographical, or mental- splinters. The splinters have to exchange information, and so news networks spawn out of seemingly nowhere. Hundreds of these small news networks banded together during the corporate wars, much like the Ares-Nova Guild, in the hopes of survival. They succeeded, in a fashion; now they rule the airwaves of the New Economic Block. Their mini-CEOs squabble over their small spheres of influence while the Network itself strains to hold them all together.   Hyperspace News Network does not control communication itself. No corporation is willing to allow another corporation to manage their communication channels. The genius of HNN lies in their indispensability. Their journalists are top-notch, their TV shows well crafted, and they're more than willing to sell commercial space to the likes of Top-Shelf Agriculture and Vayesk Technology Solutions. They pour so much money into their media empire that they can't support a real one and depend on all the other corporations for military help. Other corporations have tried to match their entertainment genius and failed poorly. HNN is quick to remind people about Dyson Energy's excruciatingly bad TV show, "The Young and the Youngest Newtons".   Hyperspace News Network is corrupt to the core. The casting couch is not only common, it is expected; their employees are pimped out with heavy regularity to their mini-CEOs. Actors and actresses may find themselves blacklisted from work (and, functionally, life) simply because they unknowingly insulted the wrong CEO at the wrong time. GLAs and Hybrids were once valued employees within the Network, especially in their cinematography division. The Rebellion and mass defection of the uplifts forced HNN to adopt a hard-line stance against non-baselines. HNN news anchors now help lead the charge decrying their existence and constantly stumping for war against Neo-Human polities.
