Doctor Dexter Bonita
Doctor Dexter Bonita is a legend: one of the most brilliant minds in genetic engineering, he pioneered the first effective telomerase de-aging protocol, created the first Uplifts, created the first Hybrids, and created the cross-fertilization protocols. He also experimented heavily with what he called 'retroviral stem cells' for rapid regeneration, developing a reputation for cruelty and perversion. Then he headed the Phoenix Project, an attempt at using clones to extend a consciousness to a new body, but he failed at developing a quick and effective method at accomplishing the latter. Still, he seemed poised at a breakthrough... until the Rebellion occurred, and his research assistants betrayed him and departed for the Exodus fleet. He has not been heard from since, but nobody's found his body. Rumors persist that Doctor Beryl Benjamin, his former lab assistant and heir to his research, knows what happened to him- but her diary is lost to history.
