Ares-Nova Guild

The Ares-Nova Guild began as a competing pair of arms manufacturing companies. After the Typhoon Initiative suggested the the global hostile takeover, the two engaged in outright active hostilities with each other and several smaller organizations. Employee death tolls reached upwards of 40.3% of all active participants before a ceasefire was negotiated. Inner corporate politics of the bloodiest sort caused a brutal splintering of both Ares Armaments Association and Nova Corporation. Forced with potential annihilation by the Quantum Matrix Conglomerate, the remaining splinters of the conflict coalesced into the Ares-Nova Guild.   The Ares-Nova Guild is unique amongst the New Economic Block. They're not some monolithic company. Instead they're a wide assortment of arms manufacturers, ranging from small personal workshops to large factories. Each member of the ANG gets a controlling vote which they can use to vote for a president during the Decadal Elections, the Biennial Arms Constitutional Convention, or the special councils held whenever ANG profit dip below a predetermined threshold. Approximately 75% of all high-end weaponry and armor manufactured in known space is manufactured by the artisans of ANG.   Ares-Nova Guild culture is almost nonexistent and varies from member to member. Most Grand Masters are pompous, demanding artisans who take great pride in their work. The Ares-Nova Guild as a whole knows that their decentralized corporation is vulnerable to buyouts from members of the rest of the NEB board, so they try not to rock the boat too much and zealously band together to keep their autonomy. GLA Grand Masters are treated with derision and are usually stonewalled out of major elections ("Thumbless" is a common insult), though ANG enjoys purchasing trained hybrid slaves for their workshops.
