Omanu

The Valley sings its songs of death, so we shout to drown the sound!
— chant of the Omani guards
An outpost town on the edge of the Genrir region, near the Lenako Valley.

More than Monster

While Omanu has become the first line of defence against creatures making their way out of the Valley, its original purpose was to act as a border guard between the Genrir and Jakr regions. The outpost's location, built into the edge of the Valley's rocky spires, meant that anyone wishing to cross the land had to pass through the town's checkpoint, which on creation was imbued with the spell Zone of Truth, making it the ideal spot for interrogation of a passerby's purpose.

Valley Springs

What made Omanu an additionally ideal location to found a settlement was the hidden secret that the Valley's outer spires contain: water. Within the larger spires, as some of the earlier Omani settlers discovered, were pools of fresh water, similar to that you'd find in underground caverns. Researchers from Ik'the have reasoned that the water comes from beneath the Valley, and has risen as a result of the effects of wild magic, evidenced by traces of old magic found around the area, and the various pockets of wild magic in the Valley itself.
