Brother Crow

Description

Brother Crow is the Elven god of mischief and selfishness. He is rude, greedy, and often lacks common sense. Instead he gets by through a seemingly endless series of insane machiavellian cons and tricks. He is an endless source of trouble and an instigator of much drama in the Elven pantheon and beyond.

Appearance

Brother Crow can take the form of any animal, but often favors the form of a black crow or humanoid. He often has a scruffy and unwashed appearance, and is so uncomfortable with taking the form of a female that he often gives himself away. As a crow he has unruly feathers and Blue eyes.

Personality

Selfish, thoughtless, endlessly rude, and massively chauvinistic, Brother Crow is a real prick. Despite this, he is not a mean-spirited individual. When he causes harm, it is rarely that he intends to do so, and more that he gives zero thought to the consequences his actions will have on others. He is incredibly intelligent and charismatic, and uses these gifts to get his own way at every opportunity. You, dear reader, might compare his personality to a looney tunes character like Buggs Bunny or Wiley E. Coyote.

Worship

Worship of Brother Crow is very common in Elven society. He is considered a close relative of Elvenkind (hence his common title of Brother). As gods go, he is often seen as the only one to posses and represent all of the flaws and foibles that mortals have. In this way, he is considered a very relatable diety, and references to him appear frequently in daily life in Elven society. It is common to say a prayer to Brother Crow before attempting something foolish or risky or to invoke him after making a blunder. Shrines to him are commonly found in bathrooms or other private places, and the homes of children. Kids, it is often said, "must learn from Brother Crow's mistakes" and so he is often invoked by children and their caregivers. Clerics of Brother Crow often perform their duties while acting as a clown. They wear two or three tone paint covering their bodies and faces when performing their duties, most commonly white and black stripes and spots, and leave their god's temples and shrines to walk through society and share the teachings of their god through example. These clerics highlight taboos, make fools of themselves and others, and generally make an example of what not to do out of themselves and others. In this way they teach the importance of keeping good spirits, and prioritizing good intentions over good outcomes.
