The Shield
The Shield is the title of one of the seven Pillars of the Ordo Templaris, the highest governing body of the order. The Shield is one of the Council of Seven and one of the leaders of the Templars and Crusaders alongside the Spear. The Shield usually saw to defenses and day to day operations in the Ordo bases. Only on occasion would a Shield be found in a battlefield that was not an Ordo base under attack. The Shield were generally smart, tactical and fearless but lacked the underlying rage and aggressiveness of the Spear.
