Ordo Templaris third Crusade
The Third crusade was mainly focused on the Sith and the rising threat around them.
Many of the older Templars were afraid that they would see another Infinite Empire from the Sith just like the Rakata had expanded and were vigilant that a Foe of such a magnitude would be difficult to fight. They did have the advantage of knowledge and time during this period. The Sith were still small and could be monitored. The Architect warned the Sith would indeed, but also must raise. At this point the Architect and the Flame was the only remnants of the original order and the First crusade as a whole. The flame was not around during the beginning of the second crusade, having not been summoned until later, and the architect was secluded in his ship. This was also the time where the architect went on and on about time and space, the removal from it allowing for clarity and knowledge.
He warned that the Sith would raise, and that the Order must let them, in fact the order must protect them. They had an important part to play much later, in keeping the balance when the Jedi would become overwhelming and their teachings too fanatical. And so the Sith spread, and the order was fighting with and against them to find the perfect balance. They knew the Sith had to survive, for they would be needed later, but they could not be assisted too much or they would cast everything into ruin and the terror of another Infinite Empire would be real.
