Six Divine Principles of the Order
Purpose
The Six Divine Principles were created to define the metaphysical and moral foundation of The Order of the Silver Dawn, legitimizing their rule over Argenthold and the surrounding territories. The document sought to merge divine law with industrial progress, proclaiming that Aether and machinery were sacred instruments of ascension.
Its purpose was twofold:
- To justify the Order's monopoly on magick and technology.
- To codify a spiritual hierarchy that placed the High Archon as both prophet and sovereign, a vessel of divine will
Document Structure
Clauses
The decree is divided into six sacred canons, each representing one of the Divine Principles.
- The Principle of Radiance: Light is truth. All illumination stems from the Silveer Dawn, and knowledge must serve order.
- The Principle of Resonance: All power flows from Aether; to disrupt its harmony is heresy.
- The Principle of Dominion: The strong must guide the weak; control is divine responsibility.
- The Principle of Purity: Corruption of flesh or magick must be purged to preserve the sanctity of progress.
- The Principle of Unity: All divisions are fractures in the divine machine; harmony is achieved through obedience.
- The Principle of Ascension: Through the perfect union of man, meta, and magick, transcendence shall be attained.
Each canon is followed by a set of sub-lows known as The Auric Dictums, outlining practical applications from Aetheric research regulations to civic behavior expectations.
Caveats
Violation of any Principle is deemed Aetheric Treason, punishable by exile or dissolution.
Only the High Archon may reinterpret or amend the Decree.
Copies of the Principles may not be reproduced without sanction from The Argent Council .
Those of unblessed origin (non-Order citizens) may not invoke the Principles as legal defense.

Publication Status
Restricted Religious Canon
Only initiated clergy, Aetheric scholars, and ranking officers of the Order have direct access. Fragments and interpretations circulate in the Lower City, though possession by commoners is a punishable offense.
Legal status
Recognized as divine law within all territories under Order control, especially Argenthold and its dependent regions.
In Freehold territories and rebel enclaves, it is condemned as doctrinal tyranny and spiritual propaganda and is banned from public recitation under penalty of imprisonment.
Historical Details
Background
Written in the aftermath of the Aetheric Revolution, the Six Divine Principles emerged as both scripture and constitution. Following decades of chaos between magickal factions, the Order sought to consolidate both faith and science under one banner.
High Archon Seraphine Valenor claimed to have received the Principles in a trance-like state beneath the Silver Leyline, where divine Aether "sang in six tones." Her followers took thins as revelation, a divine mandate to bring unity through industrial enlightenment.
The document's tone reflects the idealism of its birth: reverence for discovery, fear of corruption, and the unshakeable belief that humanity's destiny lies in the perfection of the machine.
History
After its ratification in AE 1894, the Six Divine Principles became the foundation of the Order's governance, replacing secular laws with theological command.
- AE 1912: The Principles were engraved into the walls of The Argent Spire's Sanctum.
- AE 1940: The Red Hammers declared the Decree an "engine of oppression" and destroyed several public recitation chambers.
- SE 221: The current High Archon, Aurinda Lorena Winterman , ordered a reillumination of the text, literally rewriting sections in Aetheric fire as part of her ascension ceremony.
Public Reaction
Among the upper echelons of Argenthold, the Decree was hailed as divine order made manifest, a sacred philosophy that justified technological dominance.
However, in the Lower City, whispers of dissent spread quickly. Workers mocked the Six Divine Principles as "The Six Golden Chains."
When recited publicly, the Principles often evoke mixed responses: reverent awe from the faithful, and quiet rage from those who live under their shadow.
Legacy
The Six Divine Principles remain the core doctrine of the Order and serve as the naming convention for the Aether Dreadnoughts, each embodying one Principle:
- Radiant Oath
- Resonant Will
- Dominion's Hand
- Purelight Ascendant
- Unity's Forge
- The Archon's Path (representing Ascension)
The Decree continues to justify industrial expansion, the suppression of the Black Fog and the hierarchy of Aetheric citizens, a living religion written in brass and flame.
Term
Eternal
Reaffirmed with each ascension of a new High Archon. To date no attempt to abolish or rewrite it has succeeded; every rebellion that tried was either crushed or vanished into the Fog.
