Common Etiquette rules

The Aerie Folk do not shake hands upon meeting, instead choosing to nod briefly in greeting, and physical contact similarly is reserved only for other Aerie Folk unless the outsider is close with the individual.

Coming of Age Rites

The election festival, every five years, is a main coming of age tradition for the Aerie. An Aerie's first election is celebrated hugely within their family and community, with massive emphasis in the weeks leading up to it on teaching the first voters about the politics of the day and helping them decide which way to vote.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The Aerie culture places a heavy emphasis on the ability to escape troubling situations, causing the 'ideal' body type for most Aerie subcultures to be an athletic one. Beauty for the Aerie is often found in small features, with their 'most beautiful' folk having a thin face shape, and small eyes, nose, and mouth. However, being of all races, cultures and species, this is a large generalisation- most Aerie would find the truest beauty to be in diversity and uniqueness.

Gender Ideals

While the Aerie see a distinction between genders, the ideals for a person's valued skills and abilities remains the same regardless of sex or gender, with culturally most valued skills being athleticism, wit, and stealth.
