Warding
"Trust your brothers like you trust your own feet. You stand your ground, they'll stand with you."The units composition the proffesionnal Dwarven armies of the Lunt Kingdom and the Gurdy Protectorate. A Warding unit is made for the purpose of raiding parties or to defend a territory against any force, animal or sentient. Their exact organization is seldom uniform although the strong and hardy attitude of the Dwarves make up for it, Wardings tend to form naturally in a way to best complete their assigned duties.

Composition
Manpower
Wardings never go under fifty men, and can go up to a thousand.
Weaponry
Dwarven iron and steel is abundant enough in both Gurdy and Lunt to provide adequate materials for the most sturdy of weapons and armor. While the best of the best is reserved for elite troops of Bjergmen or the like, Wardens of a Warding get excellent pieces themselves.
Structure
Wardings are lead by Wardens. Dwarfs with experience hunting and defending against monsters or invaders. They can be challenged at any time for their position in smaller Wardings, but they often have officers that challenge the challenger before that happens. They lead based on strength and experience, but a noble upbringing and the fear of retaliation once home can also enact their authority.
Tactics
Wardings emphasize the idea of sturdy defense. They form shieldwalls against most threats, baiting the enemy to attack their heavily reinforced shields so they may pierce the assaillant and cut it to ribbons once fallen. There are many variants of this theme depending on the exact composition of the warding.
