Session 138: When Last We Met 10/5/25

When last we met, The party had arrived to the country of Sullux for their next bit of unfinished business. Examining and taking over of Sebastian's ancestral home, Exham Priory. After a few days of travel, They arrive to the crumbling and disused walls of the estate. Investigating inside they find the place abandoned and left to fester under its own long past.

The party are greeted by a small squat man calling himself Carmichael. He is apparently the steward/caretaker of the house. Upon learning that the party have inherited the house from the late Sebastian, He offers his services to them as well. He begins taking them around the house, giving them a tour of their new property.

Throughout the course of this "tour", A small backstory begins to unravel through found journal entries which detail an entity that essentially tricked Sebastian's father, Aldous Corville into murdering his own wife and daughter in order to save them from a far worse fate which was never to come. Along with that, they encounter a couple of entities in the house. First they meet a spectral girl. Possibly that of the murdered daughter, Lovinia in retrospect who seems to summon/awaken specters with her mournful howl that attack the party. The party dispatches these low level spirits.

The second of which was a ghostly woman on the second floor, Likely the murdered wife Keziah who attacks the party but is quickly rendered harmless by the party's magical attacks which subdue her.

The session ended off with the caretaker Carmichael, revealing he's not who he says he is and may just be the presence or entity which seems to have followed and Tormented the Corville family for decades. Possibly Centuries.
