Session 122: When Last We Met 4/21/25

When last we met, the party had burst into the throne room of the queen only to find an entire squad of star spawn interrogating several nobles being held hostage. What little conversation they caught seemed to be they were trying to find out where the Queen actually was.

This is all interrupted as the party flood in and spread out as a huge battle breaks out. The star spawn seem to be in full strength and deal much damage in the first couple of rounds. The star spawn known as the maven of worms lets out a circle of death spell which depletes the health of a lot of the party and their npcs. A second Star Spawn Hulk reveals itself and slam attacks Mistral and a number of their allies depleting much of their health.

The Star Spawn seer uses the Hulks as a kind of lightning rod to reflect psychic damage to the party. The first volley is enough to bring many to single digit HP and actually downs the guard known as Freya. Ukko brings her back and heals up a bunch of party members with a Mass Cure wounds spell.

The party does have superior numbers and they manage to rally and deal quite a lot of damage in return. The star Spawn manglers are the first to go down. Volleys of Eldritch blasts are sent hurtling across the throne room from both sides. Vandread and his steel defender manage to catch more than a few Star spawn in their collective web spells. 2 of the Nobles are killed outright as another psychic blast ricochets off a Star Spawn Hulk.

Mistral summons a barlgura demon to take the heat off as the Star Spawn Hulk begins attacking it instead of the party. Pretty soon it's Eldritch Horrors vs. a Demon from the Abyss. The Barlgura leaps into the web and tentacles to get a few shots off on the Seer and Maven of the Worms before it is sent back to the Abyss by those creatures.

Finally the tide begins to turn in the party's favor as more Star Spawn meet their end. Sebastian and Romaia manage to damage one hulk enough to kill it while Vandread takes the other one down with his Trident.

Celeste finally brings down the Seer with two well placed arrow shots. While A combined salvo from Sebastian and Ukko wound the Maven of worms enough for Mistral to finish it off with his overpowered Eldritch Blasts.

The Maven disintegrates into a swarm of insects that begin to crawl and fly away. Unwilling to risk letting even these remnants escape, Vandread blasts the swarm with a ray of frost killing the Larva Mage once and for all.

With the star spawn eliminated, Quiet settles on the Throne room once more. With a question still looming in the air.

The rest of the nobles who were cowering for their very lives proceed to rush across the throne room and crowd around the woman who was calling herself Freya. The nobles thank the gods that she is safe and proceed to address her as "Your Majesty".
