King Tyran "The Manticore" I of Karvin
Tyran I Septenrius (a.k.a. The Manticore)
"During these trying times, it is our bond as brothers and sisters of Karvin from which we should draw our spirit. Though our worldly wants and ambitions are jeopardized by our decisions, it is our ecclesiastical duty to the spirit of our Kingdom which ought to guide us. My father forgot this; and I will not make the same mistake that he did." - Tyran I, Address to the People, 612 c.e.
Tyran I (born Tyran Septenrius) is the reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Karvin. As the second-born son of Grimm II, Tyran was not expected to reign as King of Karvin and faced both internal and external instability at the time of his father's abdication and his ascension to the throne. Nevertheless, king Tyran's ability to oversee and emerge triumphant in the Great Hemispheric War earned him the title of "the Manticore".

Personal history
Born shortly before the beginning of his fathers tenure, Tyran was educated in the Indexian military academy, under the likely intention of serving under his brother, Godfrey, Duke of Lowermoor and heir of the Kingdom of Karvin, as Grand Marshal of the Armed Forces. Tyran's importance as a political figure grew quickly following the rapid illness and death of his elder Brother. Tyran spent a significant portion of his heirdom overseeing the decline of both his duchy and the kingdom under the ruler ship of his father, Grimm II. Sensing impeding instability, Tyran was quick to marry Countess Eva of Easttalon and father a child; Prince Karvin Septenrius III.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Tyran I is most well known for overseeing both Battles of Karsmouth during the great hemispheric war, as well personally commanding and fighting in the latter of these two conflicts. Tryan I is also commended by scholars for mending the relations between his lands and the Republic of Holstead following their secession through a series of diplomatic missions headed by his cousin, Princess Beatrice of Karvin. A move which arguably lead into the Holsteadian intervention in the Great Hemispheric War.
Domestically, Tyran's tenure has been mixed. With efforts to consolidate the rulers of the exclave lands proving ineffective and the return of his heir from exile being greatly delayed, leading to disputes within the aristocracy over the validity of Prince Karvin's right to secession.
