Humans

Humans are one of the civilized races of Orbis. They were created by Zyleniel, but as Orothel came down to Orbis and spoke to them, they adopted him as their god and most of the human churches worship him.   Some are religiously doctrinated, others are enterprising with their trade and ambition, however, what rules above almost everything, is gold.     Most human regions are connected by roads, these roads are usually made of stone if the region is wealthy.   Upon entering one of the major settlements, your face will be seen by one of the guards, and he shall be the one responsible to keep track of when you leave.   The law is harsh with outsiders, who are often seen as the most likely to commit a crime. If a noble or a high priest accuses you of a crime, you are guilty. Usually the outcome is decided without trial, but if you are either known enough or lucky, they may concede you the luxury.   The sentences vary from settlement to settlement. If you steal something that has a low value, some lords may have you pay what it cost, others might cut your hand for it.     Running from the guard is an admission of guilt and you may be punished that day.   Most settlements do not take kindly upon stealing. The first crime you commit, will lead to a fine and twenty eight lashes. The second, results in a harsh punishment that can vary from lord to lord, and the thid, usually is either being hung or exiled   Assault with a non-lethal weapon is punishable by lashings and some time in a prison. Assault with a lethal weapon is considered attempted murder and you may be executed in two days. Murder will have you executed the following day.   The guard who acknowledged you is responsible for the execution.   The moment you set foot in a settlement, you are a subject to the nobles and the lord. If you defy their orders, you are to be executed.
