Dragonborn Invasion

The Dragonborn Invasion started two thousand years ago, roughly four centuries after the birth of the world, and (depending on the account) lasted anywhere from two years to half a century. The invasion started when infamous Dragonborn Prophet-King Halasarss discovered that the Dragonborn once reigned supreme in the previous world, and he declared it was their destiny to do so again. Though his armies did not possess the kind of heavy weaponry that his enemies did, their breath weapons proved more than sufficient. Countless Orcs, Goblinoids and Elves were turned to ash from fire, frozen by ice breath, or melted in place by acid spit. The invasion ended when the Dragonborn had conquered all of the initially Orcish land and created the colony of Arassh. By the end of the Invasion, Halasarss met his death from unknown means, and since then the Dragonborn have largely just stayed in place.
