Communications

There is always a great deal of trouble trying to communicate with others from a long distance. Typically, people called Scribe Runners are responsible for the transfer of messages, usually carrying more lightweight messages written on papyrus, but carry stone tablets on occasion. To avoid an oppressive weight, most messages sent on slabs of stone or clay are short and very succinct. The Scribe Runner is replaced by an Arcane Messenger in courts that can afford it, due to the simple fact that Scribe Runners are simply far too slow. Arcane Messengers use the "Message" spell to send information directly to other Arcane Messengers in other locales, allowing for efficient governance. For reasons of security, most Arcane Messengers in important places will use some form of code to hide sensitive information, should there be any.
