Talea has a pool of 10 "ranger points" per long rest, to use on the following bonus actions:

  • Did the Research. Talea makes a Perception check (against target's spell save DC) to immediately learn any immunities, vulnerabilities, or resistances it has.
  • Arrow Blitz. Talea adds 1d10 piercing damage to her next ranged hit. All creatures adjacent to the next target she hits must make a DC15 DEX save or also take this damage (taking half on a success).
  • Hang On! Talea heals a target within 60 ft. for 1d4+3 hit points.
  • Bait and Switch. Talea switches places with an ally within 30 ft., as long as neither she nor the ally is restrained, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to move. Neither takes opportunity attacks from this maneuver.
  • Step of the Wild (2 ranger points). Talea casts pass without trace.


Wild Shape. As a bonus action, Talea can transform into any beast with a challenge rating of CR 1 or lower who does not have a flying speed. Favored Foe. Talea has advantage on saving throws and ability checks against fiends.

Actions

Multiattack. Talea makes either two attacks with her longbow or two attacks with her battleaxe.   Longbow.+11 to hit, range 150/600 ft. 1d8+7 magical piercing damage, plus an extra 2d6 piercing damage if the target is a fiend. Battleaxe. +6 to hit, range 5 ft. 1d10+2 slashing damage, plus an extra 2d6 piercing damage if the target is a fiend.

Personal history

Talea was born on the outskirts of Drakesland Wharf, where she spent the entirety of her first twenty-five years caring for her family and exploring the woods of Isle Machmorraig. She grew up within her mother's druid circle, the Circle of the Waning Moon, where she got to know Ulrich Fiensbane of Fiend's Bane particularly well.   In her early teens, Talea came out as transgender. Rather than have her leave the island to pursue Tenser's Trueself, her parents allowed her to become an apprentice to Fiend's Bane, where the wizard Faedor cast the spell on her. She proved to be an excellent apprentice, and remained in the position for roughly ten years.   In November Y1110, Talea joined her close friends Ann Trulove, Sasha Haderaa, and Zoë Fiensbane in following the future Heroes of Cape Hildegard away from Isle Machmorraig and on towards a wider adventure.   Though Talea tends to take a backseat role in adventures, focusing more on protecting her friends than any heroic deeds, she has played a small part in some of the most notable fiendish invasions of the past few months. She helped defend Cape Hildegard during the Terror of Nick Shadow, in conjunction with Ann, Sasha, and the South Cape Temple of Prometheus. Later, she assisted the Heroes in killing Levistus in the Royal Phoenix Showdown. She is currently traveling with the Battalion of Degenerates and assisting them with their quest to destroy the Order of Sarastro.

Intellectual Characteristics

Talea tends to be practical and sensible, even when the practical choice is at odds with her personal desires. She values the greater good, and the well-being of her friends and family, over her own personal wants and needs. She prefers to plan for every given possibility before undertaking any endeavor, though she can sometimes be pessiistic and fatalistic about these possibilities. She is incredibly loyal towards and protective of her friends, and immediately mistrusts anyone who causes them pain.

Talea is the eldest of six children born to Human carpenter Owen Woods and Elf druid Azalea Woods. She often acted like a third parental figure to her younger siblings, and often felt stifled by the responsibility of having to stay on Isle Machmorraig to care for her family.
