Pepper of Dancamort

Pepper of Dancamort is a white tiger kept as a pet by Cesar von Phrygus, Master of Rituals of the city of Dancamort. She has been Cesar's constant companion since he acquired her sometime in Y1099.   Pepper's first public appearance was at Dancamort's New Year's Eve gala for the dawn of Y1100. Cesar claims to have acquired her from a trader out of either Port-Au-Cimba, Cortodán, or a remote island near Chorr'zya, though accounts vary. She was likely around a year old. Since then, she has grown to an enormous size: nearly four feet tall at the head, and weighing over 600 pounds. Despite her size, Pepper is frequently seen in casinos, restaurants, and other establishments with her owner. She is extremely well-behaved and intelligent, seems to understand some Common, and shares an extremely close bond with Cesar. She has a tendency to growl when inconvenienced or insulted.   Pepper is an object of fascination for tourists and native Dancamortians alike. She has become something of a local celebrity, as well as an unofficial mascot for the Hall of the Daemon Ascendant. Costume jewelers sell zirconium replicas of Pepper's signature white diamond and platinum collar and leash, which are popular gifts and souvenirs for pet owners. Following her debut, there was a brief fad for other wealthy Dancamortians to keep exotic cats as pets; this practice was banned after an incident in Y1103 where a casino heiress's panther was found to be stalking and attacking guests. Due to her beloved status, Pepper was made exempt from the law.   A few people who work closely with Cesar have reportedly seen Pepper standing on two legs and speaking aloud to her owner in the Infernal tongue. However, these rumors have widely been discredited as the words of drunkards, liars, or people with petty grievances against Cesar. Most of those who have corroborated these rumors publicly have later died by misfortune, misadventure, or accident.
