Deva

A deva is a type of Celestial creature that occasionally visits or passes through the Material Plane.   Devas in their pure form appear similar to Aasimar when on their native plane or appearing in dreams. They have difficulty fully manifesting on the Material Plane, where they more likely appear as bright, shimmering outlines or shadows of themselves. (Devas are a prominent motif in Kala'adrin art, which depicts them with a single unfilled outline of a brilliant color—deep pinks, golden yellows, and bright blues are particularly common.)   Devas are said to bend the Elvish elements, or more generally the order of the universe, towards the will of their gods. If a deva wishes to affect the mortal world more directly, they can transform into (or inhabit the body of) a material creature. Since devas tend to be shy and largely prefer subtler magic, they more often take the form of a bird or small animal than a full-fledged Humanoid. If they do take a humanoid form, they invariably pose as a humble member of society and disappear when offered wealth, fame, or power.
