Ballad of the Wondrous Wall
The Ballad of the Wondrous Wall is a popular troubadour song from the Y1090s. Its lyrics compare the singer's belovéd to The Wall of Dancamort, suggesting that they protect them from the forces of darkness (and, metaphorically, loneliness). Though their relationship is not without difficulty (much as the Wall always needs defenders), it is infinitely preferable to facing life without its protection.
The song became popular almost immediately throughout the Aquatic Kingdoms when it was picked up by students at the Wizarding University of the Aquatic Kingdoms during one of their regular stops in Dancamort. It remains infamously popular among students and other young people, due to how easy it is to play on guitar or lute.
So as the River Styx is long and winding,
And witchlights glow along its shore so blinding,
There are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don't know how...
Because maybe,
You're gonna be the one that saves me,
And after all,
You're my Wondrous Wall.
