Whispers beneath the Monastery

This is a roughshot adventure, which will maybe one day be a oneshot. Designed primarily for theater of the mind. More will be added after refinement and re-learning the World Anvil interface.  
Overview
The goblins who have lived in the ruins deep beneath the monastary are being pushed up by a corrupted dragon, causing havoc above.          
Corruption.
The corruption ebbs and flows during a day/night cycle, with more pronounced activity at night.   Day (d10) Corruption Table. 1) The well to the Forgotten you hear a hoarse slithering.
Night (d6) Corruption Table.   Once a living thing is corrupted, they experience the following in stages.
  1. Increase in hunger.   2. Increase in aggression and strength but can no longer heal. (Transfer HP lost to STR).
  3. Aversion to sunlight, causes a headaches and discomfort.
  4. Insatiable hunger and skin takes a purplish hue.
  5. Aversion to heat sources and weakness to fire.

  • Goblin activity has significantly increased in the area.
 
  • Goblins have taken monks in the monastery hostage. Twist the monks don’t care, and the goblins like the monks.
 
  • Goblins have been stealing explosives from the surrounding areas (for the cave troll effigy).

  • Grubnibble Corrupted Goblin HD 4. HP 12. ARMOR 10. MORALE 7. Personality. Aggressive and easily tricked. Nearly stripped by the corruption, the last vestige of his identity resides in his absolute terror of cave trolls.
 
  • The Hunger/The Corruption
Corrupted dragon.   HD 4. HP 20. ARMOR 10. MORALE 7. Attacks. Breath of worms. Worms burst forth in a hacking cough, embedding for a randomly delayed effect.   Personality. Wants:To devour.     The corruption. Seeks to consume. While it may have an aversion to embalming chemicals such as formaldehyde, in the absence of other food, it will work away at a corpses.     Writhing corruption. HD 4. HP 1. ARMOR 10. MORALE 7. Attack. 1 + Corruption.   Possessed mass. HD 4. HP 8. ARMOR 10. MORALE 7. Attack. 1d8 the first time, then 1d6. 3rd attack, the possessed mass explodes in a 1d4 explosion leaving behind 1 writhing mass. Weakness to fire and sunlight.

Entrance
A circular hewn room with torches burning in sconces.   > Cave troll effigy rigged to explode and surrounded by a powdery white ash, obscuring a trap door to the sanctum and a spiky pit.   > Well to the Forgotten   > Stairwell up to balcony and down to catacombs.  
Balcony
Wooden and cluttered with crates and sacks   > Goblin Sentries (PCs+1) peer from hiding places. Their attention is fixed on the troll effigy below and the door to the depths.   > Crates of torches, rope, and pitons.   > Sacks filled with fertilizer and rice.     Great hall and kitchens and cellars.   3. Monastic cells. Austere rooms with furniture carved into the stone. Goblin lean-tos on walls. Goblins speak of Grubnibble down below. After he went down, He’s deathly afraid of cave trolls so they’ve built one rigged to explode for when he comes up.not returning. A couple of foolishly brave goblins saw him in the embalming room before running away. Ember Tome (d4+fire). Spews embers as the reader blows on the pages. Thread bare robes. 4. Embalming room. Smells of formaldehyde. The corruption remains approximately 5 feet away from the jars containing embalming fluids.. Podium with a tome that bursts into flames. Embalmer’s tools. (10sp) Linen. 2 Goblins and a monk 5. BARROWED HALLWAY. Ledges hewn from rock line the hallway with shrouded corpses. Ichor coats the floor and walls. d6 writhing masses move to corrupt players. Ichor 6. Vault. Cracks let sunlight through. The crawling mass ebbs into this room at nighttime. Evidence of dried ichor on the stones. 1d6 skeletons in the room. 1d4 Urns. Ash remains. Day. Faintly pulsing tentacles intertwine themselves in 1d4 corpses. Night. 1d4 possessed skeletons attack. 7.Sanctum. Several rows of pews and a simple podium, - Clay jars of oil Candles A bookmarked tome of rest sits on the podium. Ashes placed on these pages gain…A possessed mass will no longer explode, and a writhing corruption will wither to dust. 8. Well to the Forgotten. Refuse is cast into this bottomless pit. Passes from the great hall, to entrance, sanctum, and into the lair of the corrupted dragon. 9. Grubnibble.. Skeletal remains of Goblin Bonehoncho animated by writhing mass. Guards trapdoor to below. 10. Corrupt dragon’s maw. Upon sensing players, dragon’s tongue will move through the trapdoor.
