Phary

Phary was a small river port on the Heartvein River in eastern Vhakizla. Named after the Draconic word for "ferry", Phary was little more than a supply depot between Vhakizla and the outside world.  

Geography

Situated on a small island in the midst of the Heartvein, Phary boasted a deep eastern harbor, allowing large ships – such as galleys – to dock and unload their cargo. From there, the cargo was loaded onto riverboats that plied the Heartvein all across Vhakizla, whether to Akiz, Izla or even the mountainous Vhak. Cargo headed outbound from Vhakizla was likewise exchanged here at Phary and the small port served as the primary customs checkpoint for the whole nation.  

History

Night Wars 

In 899 1A, the Thanasian armies of Caliphar II first made Sapphroan landfall in Phary. The small port became their primary base of operations for the first year of their war against Vhakizla's regime.   Even once the nation was conquered in 2 2A, Phary continued to serve its vital function to Vhakizla's shipping and trade. During Vhakizla's second reign, starting in 35 2A, much of its population was replaced with undead – skeletons and wights.
