The War of Wilds

The War of Wilds is the conflict that seperates old Sumentaa from what is called the new age. The conflict was shaded in literal darkness making the battles difficult to navigate for all parties leading to a long and complicated time in history. The conflict officially lasted the the length of the ever night of 1027 with the battles starting not long after the last rays of sunlight had left them in a darkness that lasts for 47 days each year.

The conflict

Prelude

This conflict had been a long time coming with disagreements between the tribes growing ofer the last decades. Especially between the three major tribes disagreements for who should be in charge over strategic Everclouds have been going on for generation.

Deployment

After the last light left Sumentaa on the first ever night of the year 1027 the Govan tribe used the darkness to attack Aurin. The people of Aurin did not see it coming an had let down there guard leading to the murder of a majority of it's people. The people of Valo came to ade after hearing of the attack but many lives had been lost by that time. Valo that was on good terms with Aurin too this attack personal and lunched a full attack on Govan. This was the start of the war of wilds. Following this attack the heat between Govan and Valo intensified. Smaller tribes were forced to choice sides fracturing the delicate balance there was. Multible smaller battle were helt over the following 47 days.

After the first battle the people of Aurin tried to hide themself from the conflict never having wanted any of this to happen. The distanced themself from it and hid in the shadows till it's over grieving there loss

Battlefield

The first battle field was the Everclouds of Aurin where they Govan attaked. It is a larger sized Everclouds that ued to hold on of the larger populations in the old world. After the first battle not much was left untouched of the cloud leaving it largely in runes.

Govan also became a battle ground after Valo attached them for attacking there allay. This battle was however not as devastating to the could or it's people as the attack was anticipated and they were prepared.

A number of smaller Everclouds inhabited and uninhabited also became battelgrounds in this ongoing conflict.

Conditions

The war of wilds was fought during the ever nights of 1027. This means that the battle field was shielded in darkness only being eliminated by the faintest glow of a twilight that would never come to pass. All parties took advantage of the darkness using it to hide themselves in the darkness.

After being in conflict for a 45 days the first light of polar twilight came over the horizon shedding a soft glow on the battle field and the damage that was done to it.

During the first sunrise the war was officially over with the singing of the treaty of light.

Outcome

On the day of first light a young Lumerian of Aurin entered the fight that was going on on a smaller uninhabited Everclouds. They used the power the first light gave to boast there peopwe to blow the parties apart and stop the fight. A Lumerians with that much power had not been seen in a long time leavign all parties involved in the battle to stop and stap back. The young Aurin know that fighting was not going to solve the problem and the only way to come to a conclusion to this conflict was at the table in conversation. All parties agreed to talk, some more reluctantly than others. The next couple of days they spent talking, arguing, and coming up with ways that this would not happen again in the future. This lead to the signing of the treaty of light on the day that the sun first showed it's self by crossing the horizon, the day of light.

Aftermath

The conflict that resulted in the cultural and social reform of Sumentaa. Its aftermath caused a revolution in how different communities interact and how knowledge is shared. Sumentaa went from a place that had a lot of closed off communities to having a large international community with a senterlised goverment that governed over all of Sumentaa.

Not only did they centerelise goverment but also things like edication (magic and non magic) were affected by these changes. With Northlight Academy, the national academy for magic, being there crown juwle build on the very same cloud a the finnal battle was held. This was done to show that education and unity is more powerful that hate. Anyone that wants to study magic wants to study at Northlight.

Also things like trade were made easier which benivited the trade a great deal by making it easier to trade with other communities.

Where all the above examples of what chainged after the conflict can be said the to have positive impact of the wider community of Sumentaa one can agrue not all thing that came out of this war ware positive. Many communities has been greatly dammaged by the conflict and many lost there families and loved ones, some as warriors but many as unfortunet casuties. This was a big hit to local traditions as many were never written down. The centerlicastion of eduction didn't help with this ether. With there single curiculam that was thought to everyone lots of local knowlage was not allowed to be officialy thought anymore and thus forgotten over time. This loss of knowlage has had great affects on these communities especially for there magic users as every community has there own ways of using magic. Since the stanredising of magic education more and more used are experiancing complications of the use of there magic.

The name

The conflict was names 'the war of wilds' by the newly appointed counsel of the unified government. They call it that because of the preserved "wild" and "unruly" communities that were a part of it. With the unification after the war they say they have completely illuminated this wild and unruly behaviour and shaped this world in to a better place of harmony. We have to remember that this name was given to the conflict by the new structure of government with many of its counsel members beleving that the time before was ruled with chaos and no order.
