The Elements of Sumentaa

The elements of Sumentaa are the five fundamental types of matter for the people of Sumentaa.

They are: Light, Wind, Water, Cloud, and Colour.

These five elements are the root that the world of Sumentaa is build on and through which it's people view the world they are a part of. These elements are not only a way for them to understand the world they live in but they are also directly linked to the spirits and the magic they bring to the world.

The five elements

A fundamental part of a world are its elements. Without elements it has no roots to build upon. The elements are the bases for everything to the people of Sumentaa.

Sumentaa counts five elements, Light, Wind, Water, Cloud and Colour.

Each one of these elements roots itself in this world, with all of them together shaping reality.

Light

Light is the root of Reality.

Without light there is no life, there is not sight, there is no reality.

Light is the beginning of all. The fundamental force of life. Light is the element associated with the sun that shines it light onto the world. To the people of Sumentaa the sun is the giver of life and without its light life can not excist.

Without light the world is dark and cold, something that Sumentaa experiences every year during The darkening, a periode of time where the sun doesn't rise leavign the world in ever darkness. Light is the major source of warmth.

The spirit

Seen as the spirit of life the Sun holds watch over her people through her light. She shines in down upon the world to give light and sight to it's inhabitans. Because of this the Sun is often referred to as the mother to all. Not only is she seen as the mother to all inhabitans of Sumentaa but she is also seen as the mother to all spirits. This view in only enforced by fact that she has never shown her face to the people of Sumentaa leaving her a mistory to all. It is said that she gave live to this world by shining her light upon it, but it withered way under her endless head so her daughters, the spirits of Wind, Water and Cloud were given the task to help this beautiful world prosper. Her daughters in time created a number of species to help them in there tasks to bring life to the greater world below.

In magic

There is only one species that can harness light and use it to shape in into something new. Those are cloud walkers. With them having the potential to harness light it is even for them a unique ability that vary little posses. Because of its reality and association with the element of life it gives its welders a lot of leverage and power. The Lumerians, cloud walkers that have the ability to harnes the elements, that can harness light can only do so in a weacked form. The full power is not something they can control, but that does not stop them from acting like they can.

Wind is the root of Wisdom

Blowing all over the planed knowledge is cared upon its brees and shared amongst its listener.

Cloud

Cloud is the root of Stability

Unlike Wind and Water Cloud is an element that is unique to the people of Sumentaa. It is pretty logical that they call cloud there base element, the element from which everything is build up, as it can been seen as there version of earth.

A would made of clouds is not going to have earth. Earth is an element that is to heavy and gravity will bring it back down when lifted up. One might have heard of sand rains where clouds are able to transport desert sand drom the desert to a non desert ecosystem on the serves world, but these deserd rain clouds don't have nearly enough sand it them to be of any use. With this we must not forget that these rain clouds are not Everclouds and thus do not have the capsety to cary the waight of a men. jdkd k

An element like earth is not one that exist in Sumentaa, but there is something that acts like the serves that we live upon. clouds. a cloud does not act in the same way as earth

The origin

The origin of the elements tell the story of who the elements came to be in the world above. through a seres of events the elements came to be and within the culture of Sumentaa they also rrank the importance of the elements based on this story.

The first Element

Light was the first Element. It brought light and life to the planed that was just a dolelet space rock before. With the coming of the Sun and her light life could slowly start to bloom on the planet. Over time she noticed that yes life did flourish little of it was growing in her direct line of sight and many species were hiding in places of shade leaving the planed more grey than green.

The second Elements

With life sheltering from the Sun she know the planet could not stay a life with just her so with help of plenetal elements of water and wind she created there spirits in hopes that they would help them protect this planets life from her bright light. and thus the elements of water and wind were born.

The creation of the third element

With there task in hand Water and Wind came together in the creation of a third element. Water used the heat of the Sun's light to lift herself into the sky's where wind shaped her creation into a mass of small little droplets that came to form the first cloud. With this element so different from waters original form they created the third element during this process, Cloud. Her creation gave the world above so many more opportunities to grow and let the world below flourish through shade and rain.

The one that created himself

The last element is revered to as the one that created himself. He was not part of the series of events that lead to the creation of the other elements and is why the people do not seen him as a necessary element to the world. The Sun did not dictate his existence and thus he is seen as lesser. However when one asks the Sun herself she will say that yes he did create himself, but he is one of the most important elements to the creation to the upper world without whom this would would not be what it is.

When the light of the sun came in contact with the planet a spark was formed in its atmosphere that turned her light into a dancing rainbow of colours lighting up the night's sky.
