Loput Lika

The Rootborn Elves, or Loput Lika as called by the people of Sumentaa, are an elven people that live on the surface. They call the treetops of the Latera forest there home after there home was folded. They are an immortal people that get their long life from eating the fruit of the trees they call home.

Where to live

The Loput Lika used to be a community of normal human beings that lived in the Latera regain of the surface. Through a series of repeating flodes in this aria the ground became wet and mushy leaving the ground to become a marshland unable to be walked on. This forces the Loput Lika to move, some left the aria in surge of a saver place to life and other took to the tall trees that inhabite Latera. The people that moved into the trees made there lively hoods there living of the trees and what they provide with complex treetop cities being created over the decennia of them living in the treetops.

Ever lasting life

Contrary to what many might believe the Loput Lika didn't choose to become immortal. Over the decennia of the Loput Lika people living in the treetops the trees have started to adapted to there new envierment too. With the roots of the trees origanally being set in stable ground that has not chainged to a more unstable wet ground. This chainge has let to the fruits that the trees produce creating a new mutation that makes there young more adaptable to the changed forest floor. These fruits are a big part of the diet of the Loput Lika. The change in the fruit has made it so that when eaten the fruit it will start to repair damage done to the body, which includes aging, making it seem like they are immortal. In actuality they are not and will start to age and eventually die when they stop eating the fruit. Having eaten this fruit for so long the culture around it has changes to where aging is now seen as a disgrace and a sign of not taking care of yourself.
