Beldam the Devourer
BELDAM was like her father, greedy for power. She, too, birthed no children… she collected the children of mortals instead, feasting on their souls before feasting on their flesh. She discovered she could keep her prey and feed on them for longer by creating enchanted lands for them to “play” in. This worked better than Beldam had dared to hope, until…one day a white Rabbit led a little girl down a rabbit hole into Beldam’s Wonderland.
Disguised as the Queen of Hearts, Beldam began to play with the young girl named Alice. Alice, however, was no fool, and escaped from Beldam’s. clutches. Children escaped now and then, Beldam knew, and she never worried for a minute. Alice, however, came back. Armed with a Vorporal sword, Alice vanquished Beldam from Wonderland, chasing her through the world of Once. Eventually Beldam was able to elude the girl, losing her in the Impassible Desert. Furious, Beldam vowed to destroy Alice and everyone she loved.
