Fifth High Priest - Stanek Fullfang I
Religious event
With Tarth Hammerbreaker's death, Stanek Fullfang I becomes his successor.
Stanek Fullfang I's accession also signified the beginning of the Dark Era.
Stanek Fullfang I - Dwarf - Pyeametistes
Fullfang I brought an new era to the Church of the Six Dragons and it most certainly was not a change in any positive way. The first year of Fullfang I's reign seemed rather docile, but it quickly turned sour when he announced the tearing down of the Obsidiones section of the Church. Though the Obsidiones were the smallest of the sects, the idea of removing them from the Church created an outroar among all of the sects.
There was talk about unseating Fullfang I, but the plans were unrooted by the newly formed Dragon Knights. The Dragon Knights were bodyguards to the High Priest and did Fullfang I's bidding. Three Major Priests and seven Minor Priests were brought before Fullfang who claimed they committed blasphemy for their attempt at a coup in the Church, a "slap in the face of our gods" as he aptly put it at the public trial. The ten were put to death in the main hall of the church the next day. The day after that, the Obsidiones section was destroyed through destructive magic. The city stayed in silence for weeks after the fall of the Obsidiones. Fullfang I rooted out any follower of the Obsidian Dragon and had them executed for their blasphemy.
Fullfang I decided to take a wife, a Minor Priestess of the Pyeametistes named Mala. The wedding was held in the church on a holy day and the church was blockaded against any of those who wished to come in and worship. Three months later, Mala Fullfang announced a pregnancy. Stanek Fullfang II was born healthy and strong and spent his childhood within the church. He was rarely allowed to leave its halls- teachers and lecturers were recruited to teach him in private within his chambers.
As years went on, Fullfang I confined himself more and more to the Church and was rarely seen by the public. In 755, sixty-three years into his reign and in the fifteenth year of Fullfang II's life, his son succeeded him. It is uncertain to this day the cause of his death whether it be from natural causes, suicide, or murder. Nonetheless, Fullfang II was the new High Priest and it was clear any who opposed him would be swiftly put to death.
