The Murder of Omahorn Persal

High Priest Persal's murder was a shocking attack on the Church and the end of an odd era in the Church's history.

Persal was the last elder elected to the position of High Priest and his death ushered in a new era of death and destruction that had never been seen in Aralencia. During a speech on the front steps, Persal stopped mid-sentence, vomited blood, began to foam at the mouth and scream in pain as he collapsed on the front steps of the church. The crowd exploded in a flurry of activity, questions being thrown in panic- "Who poisoned the High Priest? Who murdered the Priest?"   Persal was a Safies and his sect was particularly distressed in his death. It was immediately rumored that the Kristales, an opposing sect to the Safies had committed this crime despite their loud and incessant denial. A cleric company took over examination of the body and found a certain poison within Persal's body - Midnight Shade. This poison was known to have grown within dwarven lands. This revelation caused the Safies, who are predominantly dwarven, against each other.   In the meantime, Thonus Malnir, the Pochenpriest of Persal ascended to the title of High Priest. The course of the next thirty-three years would forever change the course of Dracones and the Church of the Six Dragons.
