The Fox King
The Fox King can almost be equated to more of a mythical figure than a real person. An unspoken patron of thieves everywhere, he is sometimes referred to as simply "The Fox". If anyone still alive knows his identity, they keep it a very well-guarded secret.
The original tale of the Fox King dates back to roughly 550 ATL, in the Elondian city of Westborne. As the story is told, a beggar-child at the time was so skillful at pickpocketing, he could steal a coinpurse without moving the air around it. When word of this became known in the streets of Westborne, it elicited a response from the city guard: homeless children began to be rounded up and locked in cells, until eventually being broken out. While the exact details of the jailbreak are often debated, what is confirmed is that one night, the children disappeared and the jailers were found locked in the same cells they were tasked with guarding.
Since that point, aspiring thieves from all over the Peninsulan Provinces and beyond began to rally under the banner of the Fox King's crew. To this day, some still choose to follow that creed, often donning masks crafted in the visage of a fox. Folk tales state the Fox King himself to still walk the streets, having stolen back his life from the clutches of death herself.
