Alderia
Alderia is one of four nations comprising the Peninsulan Provinces in the continent of Neos.
Structure
As an absolute monarchy, control of the nation of Alderia falls entirely to the Rickart Dynasty. The current structure of nobility is as follows:
- King of Alderia. A hereditary title passed to the eldest son, the King is the sole ruler of the nation, holding universal authority.
- The Tinted Council. Appointed directly by the king, the Tinted Council advises the king on matters relating to the nation's administration.
- Earl. An earl is appointed as the regional lord of an earldom, granted to close relatives of the king.
- Count. Lords appointed to oversee a county, a count holds less legislative authority than an earl.
- Viscount. Typically appointed by a count, a viscount serves as the administrative extension of the count's authority in subregions of a county.
- Reeve. Appointed to oversee a shire, reeves are heavily limited in authority and are permitted only to enforce the king's law.
Demography and Population
Alderia is estimated to have just shy of one million citizens in its population. As with other nations of the Peninsulan Provinces, this population is comprised of mostly humans, with a minority of dwarves, halflings, elves and gnomes.
Religion
While there are no laws forbidding worship, the practice of religion is perceived as distasteful in Alderian culture. Most Alderians view gods and otherworldly beings as either apathetic to the plights of mortals, or outright malicious in their actions.
If prompted, the vast majority of Alderian nobility would identify as Apathist.

As an absolute monarchy, Alderia's laws and traditions are solely dependent on the rule of the Rickart Dynasty, who have maintained control of the nation since its inception.
