The Librarian

The Paragon of Knowledge

The Librarian is a light skinned dwarf with faded blue eyes and a long scraggly beard stained with ink. He is often described as a haggard, old dwarf that wears drab priestly clothing and, most notably, is missing all of their teeth and part of their tongue. The Paragon Himself is often worshipped by librarians, scribes, and researchers. His mount is recognized as being a Stone Ram.

Dogma

The Librarian is an excitable Paragon. He tends to try and pass on knowledge as best as He can, but it is often misconstrued as His speech is nigh unintelligible. Those that can decipher what He is saying find that the knowledge provided is paramount to the advancement of the Dwarven people. Priests of the Librarian tend to find themselves in the position of trying to decipher "encoded" cyphers of gibberish in hopes of finding meaning behind them.

Gaining Favor or Redemption

The Librarian recognizes the necessity to learn and put into practice knowledge gained. Many Dwarven teachers are worshippers of Him and tend to have His highest respect. However, the misuse of knowledge can bring the wrath of the knowledgeable Paragon. Upon losing favor with Him, redemption requires something that many are not willing to perform; removal of the tongue, teeth, and/or lips. Some who desperately seek redemption take a hot coal and have it rest in their throat. This is to show solidarity with the verbally impaired Paragon.

Interactions with the World

The Librarian interacts almost exclusively with His priests. This is typically done through riddles, cyphers, puzzles, visions, cryptic writings, poetry, or even through snippets of conversation. The priests themselves take lifetimes to decrypt these and catalogue the knowledge for future use to aid not just the Dwarven people, but the other races of Omedei.
