Hugh Ainsworth
The Icon of Guidance
Hugh, also known as the Scholar's Blade, is an aged samurai with a short white beard and long white hair kept in a topknot with the remainder cascading along His shoulders. Hugh is a proficient spellsword, but took on the mantle of becoming a mentor after His discharge from Emperor Toruzaki's military. Hugh leads by example, and has provided hands-on experience to those that seek His wisdom and guidance. His mount is recognized as being a War Horse.
Dogma
Hugh can come off as a cold icon, but He reserves Himself to the whims of the events around Him. He exhibits major tenets to those that worship Him: control your circumstances, change the conditions of the test to your advantage, and if you can't teach it, then you hold no proficiency in it. Hugh also holds the founding belief of balancing tempering the mind with tempering the blade. This belief is one of building up your physical self and your mental wellbeing.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
To gain favor with Hugh, one must provide mentorship to others, or seek mentorship. Self-improvement in any regard will always gain favor with Hugh. However, to try to sojourn alone without guidance and struggle due to stubbornness is unfavorable. To suffer from this, can lead one down a path that requires atonement in Hugh's eyes. This redemption is one of self-discovery, and mastery of a skill, trade, art, or anything that requires the aid of a master.
Interactions with the world
Hugh is believed to be the guiding force for all Icons as He directs aid to those that desperately need it. When the Icons desire to aid their followers, it is Hugh that guides that divine entity to the ones that truly need it. And those that worship Hugh receive not just guidance, but insight on how to master what they need guidance for. Hugh's worshippers are masters of their skills and trades, or they are students seeking guidance on how to better themselves and those around them.
