Blinding Insurrection
After the death of the Sun Mother, Almara. Her husband Fosredas took the throne of her palace as Heir of the Illuminant Sun. He acquired her domains of light and life and became the new head deity of light. There were those however who disliked his sudden rise to power and disagreed with his methods, or simply thought he was not suited for the job. An insurrection was born from the dissent of some of Almara's most loyal and devoted followers. They rose up against her husband and the Blinding Insurrection began.
Bands of powerful angels and demi-gods dedicated to Almara rose up against her husband. Some of her most loyal and powerful allies were among those in the rebellion. They set up bases of operation on the small demi-planes on the outside of the realm of the sun. Fosredas and his loyalists held their defense in the Sun Throne. The golden fields surrounding the palace were fortified and garrisoned with squads of loyal angels, born loyalists to Fosredas, Heir of the Illuminant Sun.
The Fosredan Loyalists saw Fosredas as the rightful heir to the realm of the son and the best option for restoring peace after the death of Almara. A greater deity who had the power to restore peace and had a sizeable following after the death of his wife. Distraught at her loss, he took the throne in an effort to restore peace and push back the forces of darkness. They had no children who bore the divine rank of either of them, so Fosredas was the most powerful option, as well as the most stable.
The Insurrection saw Fosredas as a usuprer who already had powerful domains under his name. They also disagreed with his ascension. Almara had wished for her realm to go to the worthiest of her creations. The insurrectionists believed it to be a demi-god who would take the throne, not Fosredas. They also believed that Fosredas did not hold the same love for the Mortal Races as Almara had held. They worried that he would see to destruction of those who did not follow him.
