Olrion

Created by

Olrion, a U-shaped continent upon a world whose name has long been forgotten, is a place of two halves. After the release of Mylaileen and their blessed kiss that ended the darkness wrought by their violent sibling Yrdul, the evil that reigned in the times Before the Kiss have come to an end—somewhat. While religious figures and sages are split on whether or not this is as good as things get, the common people suffer, some more than others.

Those in the settlements, typically humanoids, have to contend with mercantilism, religious fundamentalism, proto-fascism, corrupt nobles and their lackeys, or a combination of these factors, dependent on where they live. For the Orcish peoples, they have long been cast out since the War of Exiling, forced to live nomadically or in the ruins of civilisations passed. Wryms? They’re an odd lot. No one really knows what they think or, more accurately, most do not care to, considering they’re not universally viewed as people in their own right.

Where are the gods in all this? Did Mylaileen bless the world and then leave, their siblings in tow? Of course not. But the gods are fickle and capricious, usually operating on a mortality that not even the long-living dragons—who can be a bit weird themselves—seem to understand. While the gods still intercede in the affairs of their beloved continent Olrion, this is often in unexpected ways, and not always in the direction that mortals would prefer.
