Úmýïža

Úmýïža is one of the three most deadliest diseases on the planet alongside Ghëža and Mvhüuža. It is a particular illness assocated with the Úmahar-Ýï, a tendril-shaped virus that, when ingested, latches onto the walls of the vessels and blocks off the flow of nutrients. This then results in the severe malnutrition and malfunction of the affected body parts within several days, which most often becomes permanently affected even when the virus has completely left.

Of the three major diseases, Úmýïža is unique in that it preys upon the Ibrófeneð Species's natural tendency towards modesty and limited intake. Due to the reclusive nature of the internal vessels, tactics like surgery have no effect on it. Instead, the affected individual must gorge themself on several week's worth of food at once, literally providing enough force to rip the virus from its bindings and push it further down the vessel. One needs to do this several times to fully push it the entire length of the vessel, whereby it is spit out the end and placed in the Üpal, the black scales that don the outside of the Ibrófeneð. These purple streaks are the hallmark of Úmýïža-afflicted patients.
