Historical Event: The Signing of The Treaty

Before the days of the Treaty, people and creatures would travel back and forth between Earth and Aiedrial. The otherworldly creatures would often come to Earth for their own personal reasons, whether it was curiosity, a desire for adventure, or more malicious reasons. Humans would often interact with these creatures, which is where the many folk tales, superstitions, and fairy tales came from. The good-natured fae would try to bestow gifts and favors onto people, the tricksters would try to get a good laugh, and the evil would seek meals, entertainment, or even slavery.   Humans were often afraid of the fae for these reasons, which often led to them seeking out the fae and killing them, especially the scarier, more intimidating creatures like dragons or orcs. This led to many wars between fae races and humans, which were always long and grizzly.   It wasn't until the Napoleonic Wars in the early 1800s when several faes were interfering with the war that humans decided to meet with them and make a treaty in order to end all wars between them. Known as the Earth-Aiedrian Peace Treaty, it was written and signed asking the fae not to return to Earth anymore to interfere with humans' lives. If they did return, they must stay out of sight and leave humans alone. Likewise, they had to agree not to lure humans into Aiedrial anymore, but the humans agreed that they would not be responsible for any humans who go to Aiedrial of their own volition. In return, the humans agreed not to engage in any deadly combat if they found fae roaming the Earth, and would not let people know of Aiedrial's existence so that humans largely wouldn't seek out portals to the world anymore. Those who were taught about the existence of Aiedrial were trained to watch for the fae, aide any who were in need or lost, and watch over them to make sure that the Treaty was held. However, Aiedrians agreed that they could not be held responsible for whatever may happen to any humans who go to Aiedrial, since the world as a whole was so dangerous.   The Treaty was signed in 1815, starting the After Treaty Era in Aiedrial.
