The First Sight of Halflings

The Calcians meet the Halflings, a kind and hard working bunch that fed them and showed them halfling hospitality.

As the Calcians spread out over the hills with their knights and Lords, they came across a field of houses in hills surrounded by crops, livestock, and gardens. Investigating further, they were met with short people, delightfully kind and welcoming. They ate together and drank together, and arranged a treaty of Protection, detailing that the Calcians will protect them from the dangers of the world, while the halflings supply the Calcians with a tenth of their crops. With the land granted by the Halflings, they built a fort for them for defense, and stationed soldiers there to keep watch over their little friends. To this day the Calcians will defend the Halflings like their own.
